Riverside Education Centre will be using a new student attendance system that will reduce the time it takes to verify student attendance, make it easy for you to report your child’s absence and easy for staff to respond to unexplained student absences. On Thursday, September 22nd students and staff at Riverside Education Centre will be participating in our Terry Fox Run. This is an annual event that schools across our province, and country, take great pride in participating in as a way to honor Terry’s legacy of courage, compassion, and perseverance. Donations under $10 can be brought to school anytime between Friday, September 16th and Wednesday, September 21st. Mr. Fougere, one of the Phys.Ed. teachers at REC, has created some wonderful incentives for our students to encourage everyone to participate as much as possible. If you would like to donate $10, or more, we are not able to issue receipts for tax purposes so I would ask that you please donate on-line using the link below. It should be set up specifically for our school. Cross Country Practice and Volleyball Intramurals are starting next week. Cross-Country: Monday, Tuesday, Thursday: 2:35 - 4:00 Volleyball: Wednesdays 2:35 - 4:00 Interested students must pick up a form outside the gymnasium.

Youthlinks is an afterschool program for students at Riverside. Each week offers different activities for student participation. The first day for youthlinks is Wednesday September 14. Drives home must be arranged for students who attend and pre-registration is required. [email protected].
