School Advisory Council

Success for every student is a top priority in Nova Scotia’s public schools. Principals, teachers, students, parents/guardians, school support staff, and others in the community must work together to reach this goal and create opportunities for meaningful involvement in decision-making.

School advisory councils (SACs) are volunteer organizations that provide parents/guardians, school staff, community members, and, when appropriate, students, with a voice to influence decisions that impact student learning.

SACs work in collaboration with principals and participate in efforts to improve student achievement.

The Chair of the Student Advisory Council is Jill Searle.
